SIMON a large Teddy by SAF |
Simon is 50cms tall made from a medium pile mohair very hard stuffed with woodwool and has original felt pads. He has the orange SAF label in his left ear [writing faded], original glass eyes, nose stitching and an open felt lined mouth with red felt tongue. Simon has some small patches of fur loss to his bib and crotch [looks like the work of a previous young owner as opposed to wear] and his felt pads are a little scuffed but not holed. It would appear from the fur in the seams that his mohair was originally 'tippped' with dark brown but that has faded over the years and he is now a nice blond colour. Simon is a late 1950's teddy and unusually for bears of this period he has a slight hump. He also has a working growler. Despite the mohair damage he is a nice bear of a mark not easy to find. 'PAUL' another large Teddy by SAF |
Paul is very similar to Simon but I would think a slightly later model. He is 50cms tall. He is covered in medium pile light brown mohair except for his bib which is blond and his muzzle which is short pile blond. He is stuffed mainly with woodwool but has an original softer filling in his feet and paws. Consequently he is a little more floppy than Simon and not as heavy. There is minimal loss to his mohair , his original felt pads are scuffed but apart from a small thin area to the edge of his right foot pad there are no holes. He has original glass eyes, nose stitching, felt lined open mouth with tongue also a black and white woven SAF label in his left ear. His growler works but is not very strong. Price £75 GBP |

'PETER' in the running for title of 'The ugliest teddy' |
Poor Peter is really not one of the most handsomest teddies but some one must have loved him once and perhaps there is someone out there who will give him a new home. He is 30cms tall, covered in a medium pile dark brown tipped mohair, very hard stuffed with woodwool and with a black and white woven SAF label in his left ear. There is some slight wear to the arms and top of the head [He has been played with!!] but otherwise mohair is in good condition. Original foot pads are a gingery brown colour with small holes in each [look like small scissor stabs], upper pads have both been recovered with felt of a similar colour. He has original glass eyes, nose stitching and an open felt lined mouth with tongue. Growler no longer working. Price £45 GBP |
